The investigation will not have dragged on. Just a few days following thediscovered the lifeless body of a woman Aged 76 at her home in Grivegnée (Liège), a 40-year-old was arrested by the sleuths of the federal judicial police (PJF) before being placed under arrest warrant this Friday by an investigating judge from Liège for the murder of his deceased grandfather’s wife.
Known to justice
In confession, “she explains that she had a stroke of blood in view of the harassing attitude of the latter”, indicated Friday the First deputy of the king’s prosecutor and spokesperson for the prosecution of Liège, Catherine Collignon. They lived in the same apartment building.
According to the first elements of the investigation and in particular the findings of the medical examiner, the lady died of several stab wounds.
Knife tip found in victim’s neck
“The forensic doctor found multiple lesions with a sharp pungent instrument, including a fatal one on the shoulder”, specifies Catherine Collignon.
“A tip of what is likely a knife was found in the victim’s neck.”
Charged with murder by an examining magistrate, Laurence is known to the courts. His last conviction dates back to 2012, further specify the judicial authorities.
The alleged murderer will appear within five days before the council chamber which will decide whether or not to keep her in preventive detention.
