DOHA: 36 violations have been registered once morest the country’s largest car dealership company for failing to comply with the contract with customers while delivering vehicles. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry imposed such a fine.
The case has been forwarded to the concerned competent authority for legal action. The car dealer company violated the provisions of Article No. 11 of the Consumer Protection Act No. 8 of 2008. The action is under the inspection conducted by the Ministry officials. Meanwhile, the authorities have not revealed the name of the car dealer.
Officials pointed out that some car dealers are failing to complete vehicle contract regulations while protecting the rights of customers and delaying delivery or booking of vehicles even following customers have paid.
The dealership will continue to be checked for compliance and violation of consumer rights. Violators will be subject to legal action, officials said. The contract with the dealers should be checked carefully while buying the vehicle.
Clarity and accuracy should be ensured. The contract should contain all the details of the purchased vehicle. Check whether the company’s seal and stamp have been affixed specifying the date. Any kind of violation can be reported to the authorities on 16001.
