Jeddah: BRC Sanford Volleyball Tournament organized by BRC Association, Kozhikode South of Jeddah, was inaugurated by Luqman Razak, President. Horizon and Orion emerged victorious on the first day of the tournament which started at the Training Mate Academy ground in Khalid Bin Waleed. In the first match, Horizon led by Nihal defeated Universal led by Faheem Basheer in two straight sets.
The match was completely under Horizon’s control, except Universal struggled a bit in the second set. Salin, Nihal and Muhajir played well for Horizon. (Score 25-11, 25-18). In the second match, Orion under Sanju defeated Galaxy under Riyad’s captaincy by two sets against one. After losing the first set, Orion came back strong and won the second and third sets.
Riaz, Sanju and Luku stood up for Orion while Jarir and Jazeer struggled for Galaxy. (Score 15-25, 25-16, 15-12). Ashraf controlled the games well. In the first match, Salin and Riaz in the second match were selected as the man of the match. Ashraf Nallam distributed the trophies to the players. Muhammad Yahia won the Sanford-sponsored spectator prize.
