The Brazilian national football team lost to the team of Senegal with a score of 2:4 in a friendly match, which took place in Lisbon.

For Brazil, goals were scored by Lucas Paqueta (11) and Marquinhos (58), goals for Nigeria were scored by Habib Diallo (22nd minute) and Sadio Mane (55, 90 + 7 – from the penalty spot). In the 52nd minute, Marquinhos scored an own goal, thanks to which the Nigerians took the lead for the first time – 2:1.

Brazil lost in regular time for the first time since 2011, taking the lead during the meeting.

Brazil conceded four goals in one match for the first time since 2014. Then the team lost in the semi-finals to Germany with a score of 1: 7 in the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup.

The Brazilian national team played three matches in 2023, losing two of them. All games were friendly. Previously, the five-time world champions were inferior to Morocco. Brazil has lost four times to African teams in history, three times in the last seven months.

Malcolm made his debut for Brazil on April 18. He came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute of the match with Guinea (4:1) and soon earned a penalty.

Malcolm became the first player with a Russian passport to take the field for Brazil. Of the players with a Russian passport in the Brazilian national team also left the defender Mario Fernandez. However, this happened even before obtaining Russian citizenship – in 2014.

Malcolm with 23 goals became the top scorer of the completed championship of Russia.
