Unrelenting in criticizing the far-right president, Anita revealed that she “immediately blocked him so that the custodians of his account might not access my accounts to create an uproar on the Internet.”

The singer had written on Twitter following A show in which she wore a dress in the colors of her country’s flag Green, yellow and blue: “The flag of Brazil, with all its colors, is for all Brazilians. It represents the whole of Brazil. No one can be unique in explaining the colors of our country’s flag.”

“I agree with Anita,” Bolsonaro, a candidate for a second presidential term, quickly replied in October, attaching his tweet with several emojis and the flag of Brazil, which angered the artist. “Every artist who criticizes the president becomes a mockery of him,” Anita said, stressing that “our strategy is to talk regarding him as little as possible.”

In a recent statement to AFP, the singer revealed: “It is a position that I take as a citizen and as an artist. I will continue in this vein, whoever the ruling authority is. In the current situation, Brazil needs many changes, the first of which is a change of government.”

The 29-year-old artist has 16.7 million followers on Twitter, 17.9 million on Tik Tok and 61.5 million on Instagram.

Her song “Envolver”, which was released in November, has been listened to more than 71 million times on Spotify and has been the most popular hit.
