A Brazilian reporter who watched both Korea and Japan’s match once morest Brazil claimed that Korea played a better match than Japan.

South Korea met Brazil on the 2nd and lost a huge 1-5. On the other hand, Japan played once morest Brazil on the 6th and lost 0-1. Looking at the score alone, it seems that Korea, which suffered a massive loss by four goals, lost more.

But Ricardo Setion, a freelance journalist from Brazil, had a different idea. In an article he wrote for the Japanese media ‘Soccer Digest’ on the 10th, he claimed, “Korea bravely faced and fought once morest Brazil. It is rather Japan that has lost a lot.”

He explained, “Korea conceded a goal in the beginning, but we fought with Brazil at a good pace in the first half, such as creating a tie. After conceding a penalty to Neymar, it suddenly collapsed, and in the end it was only 1-5.”

He then added meaning to Hwang Ui-jo’s (Bordeaux) goal by saying, “It was a goal that had a Portuguese feel.”

On the other hand, they did not give a generous evaluation to Japan’s game, which conceded one goal while consistently focusing on defense.

He pointed out, “Japan didn’t conceded a lot of goals, but there were no goals. No matter how much they keep goals, if they don’t try to shoot in the end, they can’t win forever.”

In conclusion, he concluded, “Korea fought bravely. They conceded a lot of goals, but this was an evaluation match, so it was right to do it. It’s not a game that should be won. I’m sorry (to the Japanese media), but Korea and Japan, who each fought once morest Brazil, lost more. A lot of it is Japan.”
