(CNN) – The Supreme Court of Justice of Catalonia said in a statement, Monday, that… Brazilian player Dani Alves He submitted bail of 1 million euros (regarding $1.08 million), required for his temporary release following being convicted of sexual assault, to a Barcelona court.

According to the court, Alves transferred the money to the Section 21 account of the Barcelona District Court in Spain, and might be released from the Brians 2 Correctional Center in the next few hours.

On February 22, the Barcelona District Court sentenced Dani Alves to 4 and a half years in prison on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in one of the city’s nightclubs, in late December 2022.

The Brazilian player’s lawyer announced the appeal of the conviction and sentence, while the Barcelona Public Prosecutor’s Office and the prosecutor announced their decision to appeal the temporary release of Alves.

Once he is released from prison, the player’s Brazilian and Spanish passports will be confiscated, he will also be prohibited from leaving Spanish territory, and he must appear weekly before the regional court.

As part of his release, Dani Alves was given a restraining order requiring him to remain at least one kilometer away from the plaintiff’s home, workplace or any place she tends to frequent, and is prohibited from communicating with her by any means.
