Brazilian Eder Militao, defender of Real Madrid, supported the selection of his Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti, to lead the Brazil national team, stressing that the Brazilian national team will be in safe hands.

The player gave a television interview to the Brazilian (Globo) channel from Sao Paulo, where he is enjoying his vacation, in which he said: “Ancelotti and Deniz, the current coach of the national team, are two wonderful people. I am sure that the Brazilian national team is in good hands. I hope they do a great job.”

He continued, “It is a very good relationship that unites us.. as if it were a father-son relationship.. I am very happy with the love he has for me. He is a very dear and open person. He says what he thinks and always wishes the best for everyone.”

Militao emphasized Ancelotti’s good relationship with Brazilian players, also referring to his teammates Vinicius Junior and Rodrigo Joyce.

He said, “He told us that he would already be in the Brazil national team, but we did not interfere in this matter, because it is very sensitive.”

He added, “He is our coach at Real Madrid and he will be our coach for the national team, so we don’t talk much regarding that, but we joke from time to time. I am sure he will do his best because he is one of the best coaches. It is not necessary to talk regarding what he has done in history. He is one of the best coaches.”

The Brazilian Confederation announced the appointment of Fernando Deniz as the interim coach of the national team, amid circulating press reports that Ancelotti would take over the “Seleção” next year during the 2024 Copa America, following his contract with Real Madrid expired.
