Cybersecurity is a subject that has been the subject of discussions worldwide. According to data from a Trend Micro reporta data security company, the United States was the country that suffered most from cyber attacks in 2023. To give you an idea, the most common type of cybercrime reported to the country’s Internet Crime Complaint Center was the phishing e spoofing, affecting approximately 298 thousand people. Additionally, more than 55,000 cases of personal data breaches were reported to IC3 over the past year.
With the advent of the internet, individuals, companies and government systems are subject to this type of crime. Among the complications that a cyber attack can cause are compromising the privacy of data and documents, leaving systems offline and restricting control of devices, such as home security cameras, for example.
For lawyer and military police officer Fábio Costa Barroso, digitalization is largely responsible for the increase in digital threats and the prevalence of theft, both physical and cyber, requires immediate attention. “In the digital age, protecting sensitive information is essential to preserving the integrity of private and commercial spaces”, he explains, who has worked in the area for over 15 years.
With this in mind, Barroso decided to invest in the North American cybersecurity market and will lead Barroso Security Dynamics. The company, which will be located in Orlando, Florida, will focus on providing both cyber and physical security solutions for businesses, individuals and government entities. “I recognize the critical need for advanced security measures, so I will work with an integrated approach to anticipate future security needs, thus establishing a new standard in private security services”, determines the professional.
According to Barroso, the organization’s security operations are aligned with national cybersecurity initiatives such as Executive Order 14028, which focuses on reducing crime and economic prosperity in the United States by targeting underserved areas of the country. “Through these initiatives, I aim to meet current security demands and position myself as a key player in shaping a safer society in the United States,” he concludes.
