All bodies have been recovered from a plane crash in Brazil that killed 62 people. The local government of São Paulo announced on Saturday evening (local time) that the remains of 34 men and 28 women “were sent to the São Paulo morgue for identification and handover to their families.” Meanwhile, experts began analyzing flight recorder data to determine the cause of the crash.

Vignedo Mayor Dario Pacheco announced that the two victims had been identified through fingerprints. According to him, they were the pilot and co-pilot.

Marcelo Moreno, head of Brazil’s aviation accident investigation and prevention agency (CENIPA), said two black boxes recovered from the wreckage contained recordings of cabin conversations and flight data. According to the Brazilian Air Force, preliminary findings are expected within 30 days.

The plane of French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ART was en route from Cascavel in the southern state of Paraná to Guarulhos International Airport near Sao Paulo in the southeast on Friday when it crashed 80 kilometers northwest of Paraná state. The town of Vignedo crashed.

No one survived the accident. According to Voepass Airlines, there were 62 people on board the plane, not 61 as previously stated. All 62 prisoners are Brazilian.

According to the Flightradar 24 website, the plane flew at an altitude of about 5,000 meters for about an hour until it suddenly lost altitude at around 1:21 pm (local time; 6:21 pm CEST). Radio contact with the aircraft was lost at 1:22 p.m., according to the Air Force. The Air Force said the crew “never declared an emergency or found themselves in adverse weather conditions.”

Voepass operations manager Marcel Moura said the ATR 72-500 aircraft was undergoing routine maintenance the night before the accident. Make sure there are “no technical issues”. However, experts believe that the accident may have been caused by ice on the wing. Mora said this model is “more sensitive to icing.” However, Friday’s situation “was within acceptable parameters for flights”.
