According to the latest fire department information, at least six people were killed in the tragedy, and up to 20 more are still missing. The authorities had previously announced that at least 32 people had been injured.

According to the authorities, at least 40 firefighters are deployed, including a diving team and a helicopter. Of the three boats hit, two sank.
▶ ︎ Rovilson Teixeira, a speedboat driver from the area, told the portal “The time”: “I had just left there. The area is full of ambulances coming from other areas to pick up the victims, but no one is aware of the extent of the tragedy. “

The Brazilian Navy opened an investigation into the cause of the rock fall. Meanwhile, the governor of the state of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema, opened the door Twitter Heavy rain responsible for the tragedy.
“We are suffering today from the pain of a tragedy in our state caused by heavy rains that brought down a stone wall in Lake Furnas in Capitólio,” wrote the politician. “I have compassion for the families at this difficult moment.”
