The Hal-Vilvoorde public prosecutor’s office indicated on Sunday that four people were arrested for questioning, following the fatal fight which took place on Friday followingnoon at Zaventem station, during which a 23-year-old young man lost his life on the tracks.

One person was able to leave free following being heard, while the other three will be presented to the investigating judge later in the day, specifies the prosecution. They are three young people from Brussels: a 22-year-old from Berchem-Ste-Agathe, a 20-year-old from Etterbeek and a 19-year-old from Anderlecht. On Friday, a fight between two gangs on the platforms of Zaventem station, in the middle of the followingnoon, led to the death of a young man hit by a high-speed train. Three people had ended up on the tracks during the clash, only one of the three managing to leave the track as the train approached. Another died instantly. He has not yet been identified with certainty but it would be a 23-year-old young man from Etterbeek. The third, aged 19, was seriously injured. The police had communicated a call for witnesses on Saturday to clarify the circumstances of the event.
