Bravos de Margarita hit first in the two-game series against Leones del Caracas, winning 6-2 on Tuesday, at the Nueva Esparta stadium.
Moisés Gómez not only hit one, but two home runs, to turn the commitment around and give him definitive numbers, going 3-2, a walk, a pair of runs scored and four RBIs.
“Super happy that those home runs hit, always thanking God for the victory. I’m just enjoying every opportunity they give me, I’m focused and doing my job,” Gómez declared to Trina Ballesteros, press manager for La Maquina de Guerra, at the end of the engagement.
Morales triumphed
Osmer Morales (3-2) excelled on the mound, fanning six in 5.2 innings of work, in which he walked four, had one run and only received two hits, taking his third award of the campaign.
“I have worked for this and, thank God, the results have come. I didn’t have a good start, the second start, the first one was good, but, thank God, I was able to make the adjustment and we are seeing the results of the work that has been done with Giovanni (Carrara), with Erick (Pérez) and with (Jesús) Sánchez,” said the one from Villa de Cura, after adding his new victory of the year.
The setback was for Erick Leal (0-2), after pitching 3.0 innings in which he had a couple of hits, including a home run, two runs, walked four and fanned three.
The visit opened the score at the top of the first inning with a double by Aldrem Corredor, who sent Oswaldo Arcia to the plate.
However, Margarita activated its offense in the second inning with Moisés Gómez’s sixth home run of the campaign, with “El Tilín” José Martínez on board.
Santana threw her away
In the eighth, Juan Santana delivered his first blow in the Bravo uniform, widening the lead and with Jeremy Rivas on base.
“I feel very happy, because we won, the main thing, and I thank God because the first home run hit,” said the Dominican at the end of the match.
In that same inning, Gómez did it again, reaching seven home runs so far this season and with “El Tilín” once again accompanying him.
Caracas scored in the ninth inning with a sacrifice fly by Gabriel Noriega, who sent José Rondón to the plate.
Bravos de Margarita will meet again with Leones del Caracas this Wednesday, in the second match of the series, starting at 1:00 in the afternoon, with Venezuelan right-hander Anthony Molina on the mound.

**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Moisés. Congratulations on your outstanding performance in the recent game against Leones del Caracas! Scoring two home runs must feel incredible. How did you feel during the game?
**Moisés Gómez:** Thank you! I’m super happy about those home runs. It’s always great to contribute to the team’s success. I just try to focus on each swing and make the most of every opportunity. I’m really thankful to God for the victory and the chance to play.
**Interviewer:** It certainly paid off! You contributed significantly with three hits, a walk, and four RBIs. What was going through your mind as you stepped up to the plate?
**Moisés Gómez:** Honestly, I just wanted to keep things simple. I tried to stay calm and trust my training. Each at-bat is an opportunity to help the team, and I just focused on putting the best swing on the ball.
**Interviewer:** Your teammate, Osmer Morales, also had a fantastic game on the mound. Can you tell us about the team’s dynamics and how important it is to have a solid performance from both hitters and pitchers?
