Brave Victim Uses Social Media to Trap Alleged Attacker After Police Efforts Fall Short

The young woman who was assaulted by Jimmy Jorge Negrete inside a vehicle on June 1 in the area of Beni Avenue stated that, upon seeing her aggressor message her again on social media, she devised a plan to gain his trust and set a trap to secure his capture, as the operations carried out by the police had yielded no results.

Her aggressor wrote to her again on Instagram, expressing his love and asking her to drop the case, so she decided to gain his trust and make him believe she would not pursue the case, especially since the four operations conducted by the police had been unsuccessful.

According to lawyer Jessica Echeverría, when he thought he had the young woman under control, he went to her house to propose marriage, telling her that his father and lawyer had arranged for a house arrest of one year, and that he would not go to jail. At that moment, the victim and her friends started to distract him, and when she managed to lock herself in the bathroom, she informed the police that he was there.

The lawyer stated that Colonel Miguel Saldaña from Felcv was able to arrive quickly and apprehend him, despite him claiming to be someone else when interrogated. It was later revealed that he had other plans, such as a possible kidnapping.

With this statement, the lawyer provided clarification to a post made by the Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, who stated on his social media that “the aggressor was arrested while accompanied by the victim of the attack.”

The victim, along with her mother, will continue with the process, though they have requested guarantees from the police, as they fear for the safety of the entire family. As a result of the blows, the assaulted woman bears a scar on her forehead.
