In an unexpected situation for a young child, Ryan Reed (8 years old) saved his asthmatic mother by calling an ambulance following she had a fatal allergic reaction.
Ryan called the paramedics following noticing his mother, Alicia, 27, was suffering from a serious case of anaphylaxis, which left her unable to speak or breathe.
The mother suffered an allergic reaction following her doctor prescribed an antibiotic for a urinary tract infection.
The mother said she felt like she was losing consciousness and her skin turned scarlet red, and instead of panicking, her little boy called an ambulance.
The mother said, “I went immediately following lunch to the pharmacy to get antibiotics, 5 minutes following taking them, I started to suffer, itchy throat and inability to breathe.”
She added, “My son called the ambulance and answered all the questions related to the home address. Usually the child in these situations is very anxious, quiet and shy. I do not know how he did that.”
She continued, “I am very proud, he is very mature, I taught him from the age of four or five in the event of an asthma attack to call 999 if you need to.”
