Schörghofer took over the management of the beer market leader in Austria just before the outbreak of the pandemic and has kept the company on track during a difficult time. This time was characterized by official closures in the catering trade. Nevertheless, “we can be proud of what we have achieved. The market position and the strength of the Brau Union beer brands have been expanded during this time,” says Schörghofer. The measures to ensure that the company can produce CO2-neutrally by 2030 have also been initiated.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board Ruud van den Eijnden from the parent company Heineken thanked Schörghofer for exactly this commitment and the services related to Covid, inflation and energy price developments: “It was a pleasure to work with Klaus.”
According to Schörghofer, however, there were differences of opinion “regarding the further setting of priorities” in the group. Therefore, an amicable separation has now taken place. However, the Brau-Union boss will not leave the company immediately, but will continue to manage it for the summer season. It is not yet clear who will succeed him.
