A piglet just waiting to grow. The Brasserie du Groin is ready to take a new step. The microbrewery located in the center of Marin wants to double its production capacity for craft beers to meet demand. Its main customers are currently the inhabitants of Marin and two brands in the region. Today, the microbrewery produces 120 liters per brew (the tank used to brew beer) three times a month, which represents just under 1,000 bottles. Its craftsmen want to increase to 240 liters per brew and thus approach 2000 bottles produced per month.
For this, the Brasserie du Groin must acquire additional equipment: two new brewing pots, two fermentation tanks, a bottling machine and piping. The investment is estimated at around 60,000 francs. To raise this sum, a crowdfunding campaign was launched at the end of March on the Raiffeisen bank’s “Local Heroes” platform. It should last until May 28. The Brasserie du Groin project fits into a context of proximity, aiming to promote short circuits and respect the environment. The microbrewery only sources organic cereals (namely barley, wheat and oats) grown in the municipality at a distance of less than 2 kilometers from its premises. Most of the organic hops come from the La Bluette estate, located 15 kilometers away.
Brasserie du Groin takes its name from the former use of its brewing laboratory. Indeed, the latter was set up in an old 19th century pigsty. The local has only a small area of 9m2. /dsa
