Brandon Ingram: A Lone Star Shining in the Face of Adversity

Rather disappointing results for the Pelicans last season, which we imagined would be much higher in the fall of 2022. Despite this, Brandon Ingram responded every evening, as best he could. The injuries and poor performances of some of his teammates put a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, and as a result, there were some very nice moments of glory.

We all know this “superstar” style of play that Brandon Ingram embodies: the little pull-up at mid-distance very complicated, the fadeaway back to the basket despite the defender, the aggressive drive to finish at the circle, and above all an assumed franchise player status with the absences of colleagues (hello Zion). Enough to easily distinguish himself from his teammates to take the reins of the attack last season.

Especially since BI was clearly not helped by his coach Willie Green offensively: there were very few systems for him, which often forced him to create for himself. Ingram’s loneliness was especially felt in the clutch where all the balls inevitably passed through him, for lack of solutions. So the collective consequences are clearly not great, but the individual consequences leave him with a lot of shooting tickets in important moments. Enough to fill a good compilation of highlights to keep us going until the start!
