The story behind this collaboration makes a lot of sense, since Gerardo Sordo, founder and CEO of this platform, is a loyal fan of Necaxa and experienced the team’s golden age firsthand. Football was always his passion and he wanted to attend the 2012 World Cup in South Africa, so he created alliances with media outlets to send him as a correspondent in exchange for promoting information on their social networks.
Finally, while there, he implemented a strategy where a group of people entered the stadiums with shirts bearing the brand’s logo, thus creating another type of advertising. Upon returning to Mexico, he worked on that project, now connecting brands with content creators, and today he has become one of the official sponsors of the club he loves.

“Since I was a kid I have always been a big fan of Club Necaxa, I am passionate about the history of their victories, many of which were achieved against all odds. Being a Necaxa fan was a very important part of my passion for football, which in turn led me to work with Necaxa players from both the men’s and women’s teams and the lower divisions as well as serious brands to have access to information about their sponsored creator campaign for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and that ultimately motivated me to
to open my own digital venture. Sponsoring the Rayos with whom I grew up, got excited and shouted in dozens of stadiums, is a great dream come true on a personal level, and an important step for BrandMe, which continues to consolidate successes and recognition from the best brands and organizations,” says Gerardo Sordo, CEO of BrandMe.

What benefits does this alliance between BrandMe and Necaxa bring?
Firstly, both the Mexican Primera División team and its fans will have the opportunity to: Connect through BrandMe with top celebrities who are currently members of Club Necaxa such as Ryan Reynolds, Eva Longoria, Mesut Özil, Justin Verlander, Rob Mcelhenney among others such as Kate Upton.
-Have a more competitive team within professional football.
-Have a landing page where you can access Necaxa’s footballers,
-Centellas and lower categories of the club.

Rappi recognizes excellence in the restaurant industry with the 2024 Restaurant Merit Award

Rappi, the leading delivery services platform in Latin America, reaffirms its commitment to the restaurant sector in Mexico as a sponsor of the 2024 Restaurant Merit Award, the most prestigious award in the gastronomic sector. This award honors entrepreneurs and restaurants that have demonstrated creativity, leadership, and culinary excellence; a recognition that the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) has awarded for more than three decades.

“For us, the success of our partners is our success,” said Iván Cadavid, CEO of Rappi Mexico. “The restaurant industry is not only an economic engine, but also a pillar of Mexico’s culture and identity. At Rappi, we are committed to accompanying each of the restaurants on their path to growth, because we know that they are the heart of this industry of which we are a part,” he added.

Today, the platform has more than 100,000 active stores in the restaurant vertical, of which 40% are SMEs, contributing more than 70 million pesos in sales during July 2024 alone. In this way, Rappi continues to demonstrate its commitment to the development and growth of the restaurant industry in Mexico, supporting thousands of restaurants, entrepreneurs, and SMEs to achieve new goals. In fact, the delivery channel represents 20% of the restaurant industry’s sales, a relevant figure if we consider that, before the pandemic, it represented between 3 and 5%, according to data from Canirac; this emphasizes the value of this service in the economic growth of these businesses.
