The segment of inexpensive sedans in Russia today is filled only with AvtoVAZ products. But Moskvich has certain opportunities to release Lada competitors. Moreover, thanks to cooperation with JAC, the capital automobile plant can create a car that will be more attractive both in terms of equipment and technical characteristics of a classmate from the Togliatti enterprise.
The domestic designer showed what a similar model might be. He created a series of renders that reveal the new Moskvich-2142 Soror 2024. This model will be a complete copy of the JAC A5 Plus, which recently entered the Chinese market. The presented sedan, in particular, will borrow a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine from its prototype. Moreover, it is possible that the motor will not be changed before arriving in Russia. That is, this engine, installed on the new Moskvich -2142 Soror, will produce the same 184 hp. It will be paired with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
That is, the presented model is already more powerful than any version of Lada Vesta NG. Although the novelty from the Moscow Automobile Plant will be more expensive than Togliatti products. On the other hand, it will offer more modern equipment. So, “Moskvich” -2142 “Soror” will definitely receive a 7-inch virtual instrument panel, a 10.4-inch touchscreen, all-round cameras and matrix optics, consisting of 142 LEDs.
In addition to this, the Russian novelty will be equipped with equipment that supports voice control. How much the future liftback will be priced at is still unknown. But, probably, its price will exceed 2 million rubles. Given the speed with which Moskvich creates new cars, the presented model should be released as early as 2023.
