Apart from the rushing water, you can’t hear much at the “Hirnbruck” between Peuerbach and Steegen. That changes once more at the end of July: Then the construction work for the “Brainbridge Festival” begins. For the second time, the cultural association “Pink Danger” is organizing a celebration weekend where the focus will once once more be on music from the rock, metal and alternative genres. “We are filling a niche that is less used in the region,” says co-organizer Kilian Kröswagn.
In addition to numerous newcomers, the line-up also includes some established audience favorites who have already been heard and seen at “Nova Rock” and even at the legendary metal festival “Wacken”, such as the band “Tuxedo”. “There are bands from all over Austria and one from Germany, but the focus is certainly on Upper Austria,” explains Kröswagn.
Affordable offer
This year too, the affordability of the offer was important to the team, which is made up of 25 to 35 year olds from the area: a festival pass costs 50 euros, which entitles you to visit on all three days. Camping on the site is also included.
The team has once once more thought regarding various activities around the stage events to provide additional entertainment. Two food trucks offer the necessary refreshment with hot dogs and cheese spaetzle. The team also made sure to keep the prices low at the bar: you’ll probably look in vain for a pint of beer at other festivals.
The organizers want to focus on the family atmosphere once more: “That worked very well last year, we got a lot of positive feedback last year,” says Kröswagn.
The weather didn’t quite cooperate at the premiere in 2023 – but despite constant rain, 300 visitors came to the festival site. “After the good start, we are confident that there will be a few more this year,” says Kröswagn.
