Batam Business Agency (BP Batam) commemorated the 53rd anniversary of Service Day through a ceremony held in the BP Batam office parking lot. The event was continued with thanksgiving at Balairungsari, Saturday (26/10).
53 years have passed, BP Batam has been at the forefront in developing and building the Batam Free Trade and Free Port Area (KPBPB) with various achievements ranging from infrastructure development to increasing investment which has had a positive impact on the people and economy of Batam.
Pls. Head of BP Batam, Purwiyanto, in his message said that this momentum was a reflection of BP Batam’s journey for 53 years as well as an opportunity to increase commitment, quality and contribution in developing Batam in the future.

“This 53 year momentum is not just a celebration but it is a reflection of the long journey we have gone through together,” said Purwiyanto.
“With the challenges ahead in the form of increasing competitiveness, reducing logistics costs, improving service quality, coordination between stakeholders, and socio-political dynamics that we may face together, let’s continue to innovate, adapt, and also strengthen our commitment to contribute more to development. Batam,” continued Purwiyanto.
The 53rd anniversary of BP Batam’s Service Day carries the theme “New Batam, Advanced Indonesia” which shows how BP Batam will continue to move and work real towards the New City of Batam which leads to contributions to advancing the Indonesian economy.

In the development of Batam Kota Baru, Batam’s economic figures show positive points where in 2023 Batam’s economy will grow by 7.04% with an investment value of IDR 12.31 trillion in the first semester of 2024 and a growth in the number of projects of 69.65%.
Apart from growth in the economic and investment sectors, in 2024 BP Batam will also carry out various potential strategic programs, namely the development of Hang Nadim International Airport, development of Batu Ampar Port, development of road access in Batam, development of the PSN Rempang Eco-City area, development of the Special Economic Zone (KEK) Batam International Tourism and Health, Strengthening and construction of Water Management Installations (IPA) with a total capacity of 730 liters/second.
Achievements in state financial governance as a form of BP Batam’s commitment and real work were also achieved in the form of the WTP Opinion award for the 8th time from the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) of the Republic of Indonesia.

BP Batam’s various positive achievements in building and developing Batam as a competitive industrial area, this success cannot be separated from the synergy and collaboration with Forkompimda of Riau Islands Province and Batam City, business actors, associations, law enforcement officers, auditors, media partners, NGOs, the people of Batam, employees within BP Batam and of course support from members of the BP Batam Supervisory Board.
“On behalf of BP Batam, I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to all parties who have contributed to the success of Batam’s development to this day,” said Purwiyanto.
