He almost lost a finger following getting his nails done

A young woman had a particular experience when she went to a beauty salon to get a manicure, a recurring practice in hundreds of women, but which, in her case, was not the most ‘pleasant’.

On TikTok, Beth Jozey clarified that it all started before the coronavirus pandemic hit Melbourne, Australia, in 2020. Taking care of her hands has been a priority since she was regarding 13 years old, although she acknowledges that nail biting nails) has been a constant in her life, which is why she usually wears false nails.

However, given the uncertainty that confinement would soon arrive (due to covid), she took advantage of the fact that she was in a shopping center to get a manicure. The place was unknown to the young woman before, because for more than a decade she had her ‘favorite’ place with which she never had any problems, but on that occasion she decided to change.

“I realized that they took equipment from others (…). I really didn’t think anything of it. I don’t want to be that ‘Oh, excuse me, can you wash that?’ person. We were not in the mentality of needing to be so clean due to the covid ”, she added before recounting that everything seemed to be fine, paid and left with her friend from her place.

However, the next day at night he began to feel pain in his nails, especially in his left thumb, in which he noticed that it was beginning to incarnate. The concern came when the pain caused her to drop a cup of coffee and her mother insisted that she get checked out by a doctor.

“My temperature was really high,” the young woman recalled when they confirmed that she had an infection, but the magnitude was such that she was transferred to another hospital where it was arranged that she should undergo surgery. Prior to her intervention, they told her that the procedure would be quick and without major complications.

The medical staff then told him that if he had waited longer to seek care, the infection would have spread to compromise the bone and lead to an obstruction that would leave no outlet but to amputate his finger. For her, the moral of her experience is that more caution should be taken regarding the place (which is chosen) and the hygiene conditions used.
