Mayor Schneider recently thanked the two lifeguards on duty who took over the resuscitation. The media reports made it possible to find other witnesses and another rescuer: it was Hans Poschner who dived the boy, who was floating lifelessly at the bottom of the pool, out of the water. He then laid him on a small wall nearby; his father immediately rushed to help and began resuscitation. By joining forces, the two men and the lifeguards were able to bring the little boy back to life. The emergency doctor who arrived took him to the hospital, which he was fortunately able to leave a few days later.
