The boy was sitting in the car of his 45-year-old mother from Vienna. Together with a 48-year-old, they got into the opposite lane on the Ennstal Bundesstraße (B320) in Haus im Ennstal and crashed into the car of a couple from Lower Austria.
Severe injury
The Viennese was traveling from Gröbming towards Schladming around 1:40 p.m. when, for reasons that are still unclear, she crossed the double barrier line and ran into oncoming traffic. Although all five occupants were properly wearing seatbelts, they suffered injuries, some of them serious. After resuscitation, the child was flown to LKH Graz by the crew of the rescue helicopter Christophorus 14. The 59-year-old from Lower Austria was taken to Schwarzach Hospital by the Christophorus 99 rescue helicopter team. The other three inmates were taken to the DKH Schladming. Both vehicles were totaled.
