Boxe: Arslanbek Makhmudov vs Michael Wallisch par K.-O. technique au 1er round

Arslanbek Makhmudov defended his NABA and NABF heavyweight titles by dominating Michael Wallisch on Friday night at the Center Gervais-Auto in Shawinigan in the main event of a gala event hosted by Eye of the Tiger Management.

After a single round of action in which he visited the mat three times, Michael Wallisch told referee Albert Padulo Jr. that his night’s work was over.

The German claims the Russian knocked him down with kicks to the back of the head the first time around. Padulo told him no, but Wallisch (23-6, 16 KOs) clearly did not recover.

Wallisch may have had a lead: Padulo did indeed penalize Makhmudov (16-0, 15 KOs) with one point for this odd.

This short evening of work still allows Makhmudov, ranked fourth in the World Boxing Council (WBC) and fifth in the World Boxing Association (WBA), to retain his heavyweight belts from the North American Boxing Association (NABA) and the North American Boxing Federation (NABF).

However, it is not this fight that will allow the one who is also the Silver champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC) to prepare for a possible world championship.

Earlier in this gala, Mary Spencer suffered her first pro loss losing by unanimous decision to Femke Hermans (99-91, 97-93, 96-94) and Steven Butler retained his NABF middleweight title by unanimous decision to Joshua Conley.
