The police had to move out to Traunaustraße at 12:01 a.m. It was reported that a box van had been damaged there. The officers found around 80 people at the scene, several of whom ran away when the patrol arrived. The police were able to catch one of the fleeing young people – a 15-year-old Turk from Wels – following a short time. The boy said he had nothing to do with the whole thing and only ran away out of fear. A video was found on his cell phone that showed an excerpt of the incident: it showed a burning pyrotechnic object under the vehicle.
The detonation blew up the entire engine compartment of the van. The car is a total loss. The investigation is ongoing.
