BOWIE, MD – The Bowie State women’s basketball team will continue Northern Division play on Wednesday, Jan. 31 as the Bulldogs host the Trojans of Virginia State inside A.C. Jordan Arena for Greek Night. The game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and will broadcast live on the Bulldog Sports Network.

About Bowie State
The Bulldogs (11-9, 5-5 CIAA) fell to the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State last weekend 77-66 and are currently on a three-game losing skid. BSU shot 50-percent from beyond the arc and had two players score in double figures including Anii Harris who led with 29 points while Robyn Howard contributed 14 points and four assists. On the defensive side, BSU forced 14 ECSU turnovers which also turned into 14 points on the other end.

The loss was the Bulldogs third straight setback as Bowie State started division play 0-3. However, BSU is 4-2 at home this season.

About Virginia State
The Trojans (17-2, 8-2 CIAA) won their last contest once morest Lincoln (PA) 66-43 last weekend in CIAA action. Tiyanna James finished with 11 points and Amesha Miller added 10 points, respectively. Miller ranks second in the CIAA in rebounding at 8.2 per contest while averaging 12.0 points which is top-15 in the league. Collectively, the Trojans are second in the conference with a field goal percentage at 43.3-percent.

VSU is currently third in the Northern Division standings with a 2-1 record.

Looking Ahead
The Bulldogs will travel to West Virginia to face Bluefield State on Saturday, Feb. 3. The matchup is set for 2 p.m. in the Ned E. Shott Gym.
