Bowers & Wilkins’ first Dolby Atmos soundbar

Bowers & Wilkins is entering the Dolby Atmos soundbar market! The Panorama 3, which comes to rub shoulders with products like the Sonos Arc, has the answer… And a price to match.

The Panorama 3 from Bowers & Wilkins has 13 individual speakers, including two for bass. In total, the soundbar develops 400W. And with its perfectly synchronized upward-firing speakers, the sound that projects towards the ceiling is able to diffuse Dolby Atmos effects for more immersion. It is also the first bar from the manufacturer compatible with this sound spatialization technology.

400W of power

The manufacturer explains that the design of the product was supervised by the same team of engineers who designed the speakers at the legendary Abbey Road studio. A guarantee of quality ! It is also possible to enjoy lossless music provided by streaming services such as Qobuz, Tidal and others, but via the Bowers & Wilkins mobile application.

The manufacturer assures that there is no need to attach a subwoofer or other components to the soundbar. At the back of the Panorama 3 are the main ports necessary to make the most of its content: an eARC-compatible HDMI, a Toslink, an Ethernet port and a USB-C port which will only really be used for technical assistance. Bluetooth 5 (with aptX support) and Wi-Fi are also included, as is support for Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2. The soundbar is also able to launch Alexa.

The Panorama 3 will be able to operate in multi-room, a function which is not yet available: it will be necessary to wait for an update of the internal software. Good news, however, Bowers & Wilkins provides a wall mount, unlike Sonos with its Arc. All this has a price unfortunately, and it is not cheap: the soundbar costs 999 €.
