Boulevard du Pont-d’Arve, closed to traffic
LAURENT GUIRAUD/TAMEDIA
A crucial artery in Geneva, Boulevard du Pont d’Arve will remain closed to traffic a little longer than expected. Initially scheduled for mid-October, the reopening of the section will not take place until December 1st.
The cause: difficulties encountered underground, under the tram tracks (which are still running). The micro-tunneling machine used to dig under the roadway encountered minerals that were more solid than expected. A machine had to be deployed, delaying all of the following stages of the project.
