Deputy Speaker of Parliament Elias Bou Saab confirmed that “the American envoy in the file of demarcation of the southern maritime border, Amos Hochstein, will visit Lebanon at the end of this week, without this meaning that the visit will carry the final solution, but it will be an additional positive step towards the solution, and we must know that this issue is Tricky and complicated, but it’s heading in the right direction.”
Bou Saab’s words came following his visit to President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, this morning at Baabda Palace, where he presented with him the file of demarcation of the southern maritime borders and local affairs.
Bou Saab put President Aoun in the “contacts that are taking place with Hochstein on this file, and said:” The month of September will be decisive, and if it turns out that the Israeli will remain stubborn and do not want a solution, there are other options for Lebanon and for this presidency in particular, because we are all Keen to preserve Lebanese rights by all means and at the appropriate time.
He added, “Today, I put His Excellency the President in the atmosphere of the recent contacts that took place with the American envoy, Amos Hochstein, especially that he will visit Lebanon as scheduled this weekend. The contacts did not stop during the past two weeks, despite all the inaccurate and inaccurate words that were said in the media. For example, the signing of an agreement during the past week or the work of one company with the Lebanese and Israeli parties, or a complete rejection by the Israelis of the Lebanese proposal or conception, especially following Hochstein’s meeting with the three presidents in Baabda Palace. His visit to Beirut will be preceded by visits he will make to European capitals and to “Israel”.
He also indicated that he had discussed with the President of the Republic another issue that “may mean a third party, which is the “Total” company, that can help Lebanon in the solution. His Excellency will make contacts to help in this matter.”
Bou Saab stated, that there are points “that are still pending, and need solutions, so the expected visit of Hochstein, does not mean that it will carry the final solution, but it will be an additional positive step towards the solution, and we must know that this issue is thorny and complex, but it is moving in the direction.” It is correct. In response to a question regarding Hochstein’s demands for guarantees not to activate Hezbollah’s threats, and whether there are financial compensations demanded by “Israel” for giving up the Qana field, he pointed out that “the words that are said in the media are inaccurate and misplaced. Those familiar with the file know this, but citizens are affected by what they read in the media.For example, Hochstein told me, that the Israeli enemy suffers from a contradiction in what is said in the Israeli media, some of them say that the agreement will be signed within a week, and some of them confirm that the response The Israelis came negatively on the Lebanese demands, which means that there are conflicting news that some deliberately broadcast in the media on both sides, so I hope that no one will take into account these rumors that are being broadcast, as there is an American commitment to give the issue a top priority, and the statement issued by Baabda Palace two days ago was clear. We have received a clear message that the Americans are committed to continuing to work on this difficult file. There are many complications that are being solved one following the other. Therefore, we say, that things are going in the right direction. Every day we go up a step on this staircase, and this does not mean that if we do not reach the last step. , or so Don’t be a day or a week late, for nothing happens.
