Member of the “Strong Republic” bloc, MP Pierre Bou Assi, tweeted: “Like today, July 1, 19, from 37 years ago, we were 23 young men. We decided to get out of the state of frustration and build a homeland. The homeland of sovereignty, freedom and justice for all the Lebanese.”
He added: “Maybe we were children, of our ages, maybe we were few, with our number, but we were old and far away, and never short of our vision, will and action. We will not retreat to build a homeland and this is not a slogan, this is a project, we buried our comrades on the way to achieving it. We have nothing more valuable to lose. The walls of the Bashir Gemayel Institute, Parliament, ministries and state institutions bear witness once morest us. Together with the last breath and the laughter on our faces, they are nothing but awareness before the light of morning sports, and the rest is all easy.”
Like today, July 1, 1985, from the age of 37, we were 23 young men, we decided to get out of the state of frustration and build a homeland.
The homeland of sovereignty, freedom and justice for all Lebanese.
We may have been children, our ages, we may have been few, in our number, but we were old and far behind, and we were never small in our vision, our will and our actions. (1/3)#Pierre_Bo_Assipic.twitter.com/HiXfxWbjIe— Pierre BouAssi (@PierreBouAssi) July 1, 2022
