The family of those who died in Botanical Garden of Viña del Mar will interpose a complaint for quasi-murder once morest the mayor of that commune, Macarena Ripamonti, next Monday, February 26.
The legal action will be presented by lawyers Mario Zumelzu, Luis Cantellano and Pablo Cantellano, who They will represent the families of the victims who died in that park as a result of the raging fire that occurred there.
Regarding this issue, the communal leader pointed out that the communes affected by the fire were “burned”, accusing intentionality and pointing out that there are those responsible who will eventually have to be judged.
Regarding the complaint, he described it as “immodest”stating that the actions of the plaintiff attorney are “lacking humanity and shameful”, adding that the judicial action harms families, which is why he believed that it is a “political advantage” that lacks a legal basis.
Mayor Ripamonti admitted that in politics “things are dirty,” but warned that this is not the time to “take advantage of people.” She also stated that the obligations of the municipality in relation to emergency and evacuation plans were fulfilled.
