PSV in Transfer Whirlwind as Injury Stakes Increase
PSV Eindhoven finds itself in a race against time as the transfer market window slams shut on Tuesday. manager Peter Bosz is seeking reinforcements, with urgency fuelled by an injury to striker Ricardo Pepi.
“When we heard that Pepi is going to be sidelined for the time being with an injury, we got to work,” Bosz explained on Friday. “It makes you wonder if we can rely solely on Luuk de Jong as our striker for the upcoming matches. The first line of attack needs to be sorted.”
The pressure mounts as PSV’s schedule intensifies, with Eredivisie clashes, a KNVB Cup match against Feyenoord, and a Champions League encounter with Juventus looming.
Bosz, viewing the upcoming Juventus match as a unique chance, stated, “I wouldn’t have preferred facing Juventus or Feyenoord. But maybe Juventus is a little more appealing as it’s an international opponent. We played our worst Champions League matches against Juventus and Stade Brest, but we’re a lot further along now, and we have the advantage of playing at home.”
“We are a lot further than last time when we played against juventus.”
adding to the roster concerns is the potential departure of winger Noa Lang, though he is expected to recover from a flu and feature against NEC on Saturday.
While the coming weeks promise transfer intrigue, Bosz has a playful preference. “We have to get Messi. He seems like a grate replacement for Pepi,” the manager quipped.
The next few days will be pivotal for PSV as they seek to bolster their squad for the challenges ahead.

PSV Manager Peter Bosz on Transfer Deadline Day Pressures
PSV Eindhoven is facing a hectic transfer window as the deadline looms on Tuesday. Manager Peter Bosz joins us to discuss the club’s current situation and transfer plans.
Archyde: Mr. Bosz, PSV recently suffered a setback with the injury to Ricardo Pepi. How pressing is the need to bring in a new striker before the transfer window closes?
Peter Bosz: Definitely a pressing need, to be honest. When we heard Pepi would be sidelined, we promptly went to work. We’re a bit stretched up front with Luuk de Jong as our only other senior striker. We need reinforcements for the upcoming matches, especially with Luuk carrying most of the load.
Archyde: PSV has a very demanding schedule ahead with Eredivisie clashes, the KNVB Cup, and a Champions League encounter with Juventus. How challenging is it to find top-quality players within such a tight timeframe?
Peter Bosz: It’s undoubtedly challenging, finding the right fit in a short amount of time can be tough. But we’re working hard and following every lead. it’s an exciting time, though, as ther’s always a chance to bring in someone who can make a real impact on the team.
speaking of impacts, the upcoming Juventus match is a important one for PSV. Notably, PSV has struggled against Juventus in the past.
Archyde: You’ve previously expressed that Juventus might be a more appealing opponent than Feyenoord in the current situation. Can you elaborate on that?
Peter Bosz: It might seem strange at first, but facing Juventus could be a good thing. As much as we wouldn’t want to face either team, perhaps Juventus presents a unique opportunity.Firstly, they are an international opponent, which offers valuable experience, especially for Champions League aspirations. Secondly, we’ve learned and grown considerably as those difficult matches against Juventus and Stade Brest. We’re in a much stronger position now, and playing at home gives us a significant advantage.
Archyde: Looking at the team, Noa Lang’s potential departure adds another layer to the transfer saga. How will PSV handle his potential exit?
Peter Bosz: We’re aware of the interest in Noa,but he is expected to recover from his flu and play against NEC this weekend. His status will become clearer after that. We have a plan, regardless of his future.
Archyde: you’ve jokingly said that you want to get Lionel Messi for Pepi’s replacement. Is there any truth to that?
Peter Bosz: *Laughs* Of course, it’s just a bit of fun. We’ll have to stick to more realistic targets, but it’s definitely exciting to imagine!
