Boston will play without Robert Williams for about 40 games, it looks hot

The Boston Celtics will have to hunker down for a whole half of the season without Robert Williams. “Time Lord”, excellent and valuable last season defensively and constantly improving, is not going to rush his return. The 25-year-old interior, who has gritted his teeth throughout the playoffs with a knee injury, will miss around 40 games to fully recover.

Williams underwent a recent procedure with plasma injection. His importance is such in the dynamics of the team that it will be interesting to see how Joe Mazzulla, the Celtics’ interim coach, will operate in his absence. In 61 regular season games, Robert Williams averaged 10 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks last season. During the post-season, he suffered but was still involved in his journey to the Finals.

In the last game of the preseason, Boston showed up in a very small face, with Derrick White, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum et Al Horford. Mazzulla can renew this group or decide to reinstate Grant Williams.
