The management of Red Sox de Boston indefinitely halted the rehabilitation process of Puerto Rican Enrique “Kiké” Hernández.
The versatile player has been out of action since June 8 with a sprained hip muscle.. Hernandez participated in a game in Worcester at the Triple-A level last Friday, but felt discomfort in his hip followingward. That forced Red Sox management to halt Hernandez’s activities for an evaluation.
“It’s terrible because we felt like at this point I was making progress.”, said Alex Cora, manager of the Red Sox. “Obviously, that’s why we let him play. Now, we will have to be patient.”
The plan is for Hernandez to undergo additional tests during the week.
“It doesn’t feel right, so we’ll need to backtrack and determine if there’s something else going on.. We will know more during the week”, added Cora.
