LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Boston College finished tied for seventh place at the Everett Buick GMC Classic, held at Chenal C.C. in Little Rock, Ark.
The Eagles posted their best team round of the season during Tuesday’s final round, firing a 10-under 278 among a tightly bunched team leaderboard. Eight strokes separated second and seventh place.
BC was led by Jack Pogorelc, who was 5-under for the 54-hole tournament, tying for ninth place. He improved his score on each round of play and carded a collegiate-best round of 67 on Tuesday, including two eagles on the par 5 1st and 9th.
Ben Hong tied for 20th place, finishing the tournament at 2-under par. He opened play with a 3-under 69 and closed out with a 2-under 70. Hong led BC with 16 birdies – the third-most among golfers in the tournament.
Markus Lam tied for 25th place, finishing at 1-under par. He also improved in each round of play throughout the tournament. After opening with a 74, Lam was 3-under over the final 36 holes. His 35 pars were the fourth-most among the field.
Cameron Harlock tied for 55th place, registering his best round on Tuesday – an even-par 72. Mac Bredahl tied for 63rd place (77-73-76).
As a team, BC shot 859 (290-290-278). LSU captured the team title (842). BC was +11 on par 3 holes (3.18 avg), +16 on par 4’s (4.11 avg), and -19 on par 5 holes (4.68 avg). The Eagles recorded 150 pars and 60 birdies.
BC will return to action during the 2024 spring season, which begins Feb. 5-6 at the Battle at Briar’s Creek in Johns Island, S.C.
