BOSTON Celtics crushed the Miami Heat 118-84 to record a 4-1 win and advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs, Thursday (2/5) WIB.
The top seed in the playoffs, whom the Heat defeated in the Eastern Conference Finals of the NBA Playoffs last season, avenged that loss in incredible fashion at TD Garden.
Jaylen Brown and Derrick White scored 25 points each to lead the Celtics to victory even without Kristpas Porzingis, who was injured.
The Celtics immediately kicked off in the first quarter by scoring 41 points and posting an 18 point lead over the Heat.
They widened the gap to 22 points at halftime and continued to apply pressure until they took a 98-66 lead late in the third quarter.
Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla decided to rest all his starters in the fourth quarter in the match once morest the Heat who lost Jimmy Butler and Jaime Jaquez Jr. to injury.
From the Heat camp, Bam Adebayo led the scoring with 23 points, followed by Tyler Herro with 15 points, and Caleb Martin 10 points.
In the Eastern Conference semifinals, the Celtics will face the winner of the match between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic. Currently, the Cavaliers are leading 3-2. (AFP/Z-1)
