“Boston Celtic’s Malcolm Brogdon Wins Sixth Man of the Year Award”

The Boston Celtics’ Malcolm Brogdon was named sixth man of the year on Tuesday. The Guard prevailed once morest Immanuel Quickley from the New York Knicks.

“It’s a great honor,” said Brogdon, who moved to Boston from the Indiana Pacers in the summer, in an interview TNTs Inside The NBA. “Moving from Indiana to Boston was definitely a big transition for me,” continued the winner. “I’m in a great organization here, I have great teammates and a great coaching staff. Joe [Mazzulla] has taken over here and is doing a great job. Thanks everyone,” Brogdon said in his acceptance speech.

The Celt received 60 of the 100 first votes and a total of 408 points. second place went to Immanuel Quickley of the New York Knicks. Quickley scored 34 first votes and 326 points. Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks also made it onto the podium (6 first votes, 97 points). Seven players received at least one first vote.

Brogdon, a four-season starter for the Pacers, came off the bench in all of his 67 games this season with the Celts. The 30-year-old recorded 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists. His good shooting (48% FG and 44% three-pointers) helped Boston have the second-best record in the NBA (57-25) behind the Milwaukee Bucks.

For Brogdon it is the second award in his career. The second-round pick (chosen by the Bucks) previously won Rookie of the Year in 2017. So far, only Mike Miller has managed to win both of these honors.
