In recent days, the Boston Celtics have been the protagonist of the NBA Rumors. The main ‘insiders’ of the North American basketball competition announced that the Massachusetts franchise had positioned itself as the favorite to take over the transfer of Kevin Durant, for whom they had already launched an offer to the Brooklyn Nets.
Said offer was made up of Jaylen Brown, Derrick White and draft rounds, something that surprised the vast majority of fans of the Celtics themselves, if not all. Boston has managed to reinforce a squad that was already at the level to compete for the ring (forcing a sixth game in the Finals once morest the Golden State Warriors, with the arrivals of Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari.
The signing of Durant is unnecessary, especially in a franchise that has such a well-defined starting lineup: Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford and Robert Williams III. That is why former NBA player and current analyst Kendrick Perkins believes that the Celtics’ decision is practically self-sabotaging his own project.
A must-do transfer?
“Jaylen was the best player for the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. He didn’t hide at any time, not even when things were more difficult for his team. But now there is no going back. They have to transfer him no matter what. Confidence right now it is broken, and it is not for less”, sentenced Perkins.
