“I know that I am at the end of my career. Over time you look for an opportunity to go deep in the playoffs and win, said the 36-year-old Swede. I’m happy with my camp and really appreciate that they liked what they saw. »
Coach Jim Montgomery expects to use him situationally, depending on the matchups.
“We like his hockey sense, how quickly he gets the puck out of our zone and how calm he is on offense,” Montgomery said.
Stralman also played with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers and Arizona Coyotes.
Last season, he had eight goals and 23 points with the Coyotes.
Best known for his defensive play, Stralman has 293 NHL points in 930 regular season games.
“He’s a stable defenseman who plays the right way and always seems to be in the right place,” Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron said. It’s not easy to face it. He has a lot of experience and we are happy to count on him. »
