Despite faltering demand, the world’s largest auto supplier Bosch assumes that e-mobility will increase significantly by the end of the decade: “In Europe, 70 percent of all new cars will be purely electric by 2030,” said CEO Stefan Hartung at the balance sheet presentation. The auto parts business is the largest source of sales and profits: 56 of 91.6 billion euros in sales in 2023 were accounted for by this area. The consolidated profit rose from 3.8 to 4.8 billion euros. The consumer goods division weakened, industrial technology only grew thanks to acquisitions. The announced staff cuts (3,800 of the 430,000 jobs are to be eliminated) might be smaller: management and the works council are holding discussions. No economic tailwind is expected for 2024.
