DORTMUND (dpa-AFX) – One day following the annual general meeting of the club’s members, the shareholders of Borussia Dortmund are meeting on Monday (11 a.m.). At the general meeting to be held in the Westfalenhalle, the management led by Hans-Joachim Watzke will inform the shareholders of the first division football club regarding its finances.

After the Corona pandemic, the BVB closed the 2022/2023 financial year (June 30) with a profit for the first time. The listed group announced this summer a profit of just under 10 million euros. In the 2021/2022 comparison period, there was still a loss of around 32 million euros. In total, the Corona pandemic cost the club 150 million euros, as Watzke explained at the press conference to present the balance sheet of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA in August.

Borussia Dortmund have recently angered their fans with poor performances in the Bundesliga and defeats to Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart. In the Champions League, coach Edin Terzic’s team is still playing for its place in the round of 16 of the European competition. On Tuesday (28.11.), the team will face AC Milan./lic/DP/men
