Börse Express – SURFORMA OFFERS BALLISTIC PLATE WORLDWIDE

PORTO, Portugal, March 1, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — TO PROTECT LIFE IN URBAN AREAS WITH CIVIL RISKS

Surforma has introduced to the global market CompactShield, a ballistic panel for use in urban civilian risk environments, aimed at more demanding personal protection markets, particularly in countries in regional blocs such as the Americas, Africa and the Middle East.

The company Efanor, to which the Sonae Group belongs, confirms that the new solution is the result of three years of research and development work in collaboration with Beyondcomposite and offers a great advantage over the existing solutions, especially in terms of applicability as decorative Solution as it does not require two components: ballistic protection and surface design, as well as weight, durability and price.

With protection levels IIIA, III and IV according to the NIJ standard 0108:01, the new ballistic CompactShield is mainly intended for the construction (public buildings, police stations, banks, etc.) and transport (armored vehicles, bus driver barriers, shipping containers, etc.) sectors .

“It is a technological revolution in which we not only protect human life, but also include the decorative factor in a single solution that can be used in different sectors, especially in the transport and construction sectors,” says Miguel Nogueira, CEO of Surforma.

The company has thus initiated a process of global repositioning of its Laminates and Compacts business, both structurally, through the introduction of new raw materials, and technically, through investments in new product lines with improved performance.

“With our new innovation strategy and product pipeline, sales can grow by 10% over the next 5 years, mainly through exports, which will lead to a projected increase in business volume of 7 million euros by 2025,” he explains.
