Ireland, Spain and Norway announced plans to formally recognize a Palestinian state next week, in a move likely to bolster the Palestinian cause, CNN reported, but also hurt relations between Europe and Israel.
The three European states say the landmark decision is the best way to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East, but it drew swift condemnation from Israel as its foreign minister ordered the immediate withdrawal of its ambassadors from those countries.

Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris said on Wednesday: “Today, Ireland, Norway and Spain announce that we recognize the state of Palestine. Each of us will now take whatever national measures are necessary to put this decision into effect.”
