Borrell stresses the importance of reaching a ceasefire and implementing Resolution 1701

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received a call from Borrell, where they discussed the importance of communicating a ceasefire in order to implement Lebanon – Updates and Analysis”>UN Resolution 1701: Preventing War in Lebanon – Updates and Analysis”>UN Resolution 1701 and elect a President of the Republic.

Berri thanked France and the European Union for organizing the international conference to be held in Paris to support Lebanon humanitarianly and politically to confront the repercussions resulting from the continuing Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the Lebanese, which caused the displacement of more than one million and two hundred thousand displaced people from Lebanon.

In a separate context, Berri followed up on the conditions of the Middle East Airlines Company and the conditions under which the National Company operates to ensure continuity of communication between Lebanon and the outside world, during his meeting with the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, Muhammad Al-Hout.

Al-Hout revealed, “Since foreign companies stopped coming to Lebanon, Middle East has transported 161,000 passengers and operated an average of 35 to 36 outbound flights and 35 to 36 inbound flights daily, during which it transported 161,000 passengers, including 126,000 passengers who left Lebanon and 35,000 passengers who entered.” Lebanon, that is, an average of 7,000 passengers per day, while all the evacuations of foreign embassies that took place, and the number of their flights exceeded 100 flights, only transported a maximum of 12,000 passengers. This made Berri proud of what the national company is doing, and it was expected that the company would play its national role in “These difficult circumstances.”
