Borrell denounces that Maduro “refuses to show the minutes”

From the European Union, its High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security PolicyJosep Borrell spoke about the situation in Venezuela and warned that a “serious crisis” could be generated if Nicolás Maduro is not able to demonstrate his victory in the presidential elections on July 28.

The EFE news agency quoted the European official, who said: “If Maduro insists on saying that he has won and does not want to understand that, for the international community, without verification there is no acceptance of results, Venezuela could enter into a serious crisis. We are all trying to prevent this from happening.”.

According to Borrell, who referred to the issue during a press conference, Maduro “refuses to show the minutes”.

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy added that There is no way to accept the election results reflected by the National Electoral Council if they cannot be verified.and recalled the criticisms made by the official leader in recent days.

“I know that Maduro has dedicated very affectionate words to me, it is not the first time, but I have to insist on the same thing: If the results cannot be verified, they cannot be accepted and, for the moment, they are not verifiable.”he commented. “Well, more accurately, they are through the information provided by the opposition.”
