THE TITLE DREAM COME TRUE!!! In an epic final battle, the magical Hessians defeated the Glasgow Rangers 5:4 on penalties in the furnace of Seville. After 120 minutes it was 1-1. In the penalty shootout, SBU keeper Kevin Trapp and Rafael Santos Borré became heroes. 42 years following winning the UEFA Cup, Eintracht won the second international title in the club’s history and is now the first Europa League winner in the history of the cup. The goal scorer’s decisive penalty for the interim compensation can be seen in the video above!

All highlights, analyzes and reactions are now live here on RTL+

Heroic deed keeps unity in play – Kevin Trapp’s monster reaction!

The huge chance for Rangers just before the end of extra time! Roofe breaks through superbly on the right and plays flat to the five where Kent runs in. From a short distance, however, the offensive player fails because of a sensational foot defense by Trapp! Davis’ follow-up shot then goes just over to the left. Take a deep breath at the SGE.

BUT NOW! Borré equalizes for struggling Frankfurters!

Yes, lo! Frankfurt is back in the game! Kostić has space on the left wing and simply hits a half-high cross inwards. Borré has the right nose for the five in the middle, is ahead of Goldson on the ball and pushes the ball flat into the left corner with his right foot!

Public viewing ecstasy: This is how Frankfurt goes crazy following the equalizer

Kamada misses the equalizer

The great opportunity to equalize! Goldson slips in front of his own penalty area, whereupon Rode immediately chips through for Kamada. The offensive player wants to lurch over McGregor from ten meters, but also puts the ball just over the bar on the goal roof.

Bitter goal: Eintracht makes the game – Glasgow scores

Oh. You. Crap. A long shot from Trapp comes back immediately with a head. Sow unhappily extended the ball with his head in the direction of his own goal, where Tuta actually had a better grip on the ball, but unluckily slipped away when going backwards. So Aribo is suddenly free and slides in alone in front of Trapp from 14 meters below left! Is that bitter for the SGE!

Bad luck: Lindstrøm narrowly misses the ball

Frankfurt comes galling out of the heat cabin and immediately puts pressure on: Lindstrøm’s shot from 16 meters is slightly deflected and only just wide of the goal to the left! Really good chance for Eintracht in the 49th minute.

Big chance for Frankfurt: Knauff fails due to Rangers keeper

The Europa League final got off to a bloody start, but things continue to get hectic – with clear advantages for Eintracht. Frankfurt’s first top chance in the 20th minute: Knauff pulls into the middle from the right and looks for a shot with his left from 14 yards out, but McGregor stretches out and steers the attempt around the left post.

Blood shock at the start: Rode has to be treated
