Boris Bonev spoke about a new financial and economic coalition in the Metropolitan Municipal Council 2024-02-12 07:22:54

There is no way you can be in charge with 23 out of 61 municipal councilors. The majority was very clear on Thursday, when all parties voted together.” This was commented by Boris Bonev, the capital’s municipal councilor from “Continuing the change – Democratic Bulgaria” Sofia.

According to him, the Metropolitan Municipal Council (SOS) was conquered by GERB and BSP, and there is now a new coalition in the SOS, which is not political, but financial and economic. “GERB, BSP, “Sinya Sofia”, “There is such a people” and the breakaways from “Vazrazhdane” – this is the new assembly. I have no doubt that in the next 4 years they will govern freely”, he added.

“All of them, who are on a totally different ideological spectrum, managed to unite without absolutely any problems. What this means – their unification is not based on principles, program or ideology. It can be based on only one other thing – financial- economic stimulus”, commented Bonev.

GERB and BSP with four each: Who are the chairmen of the committees in the Metropolitan Municipal Council

He, as well as Deyan Nikolov from “Vazrazhdane”, admitted the possibility that municipal councilors were bought. According to him, the two most important commissions were given to GERB with a full majority, namely on finance and economy, as the BSP and the others secured it for them.

Boris Bonev also asked why representatives of Cornelia Ninova in SOS also supported GERB, if there really is a discord between the local organization and the national leadership.

“Which regulator will get the BSP at the national level, because I am no longer naive to believe that all these things are not pre-agreed between the political leaders of the parliamentary parties.”
