Boris and Carrie Johnson canceled their wedding party at an official residence

Outgoing British Prime Minister Boris Johnsonand his wife Carrie they have canceled their wedding party that they planned to celebrate this month at the official residence of Checkersin the southeast of England, reported this Friday the BBC.

Government sources have indicated to the public channel that the couple has changed their plans for the celebration and will now take place in another location.

The revelation by the press that the still head of the Government and his wife had organized a party at Checkers led the opposition to accuse Johnson of wanting to stay in office in order to organize that event.

Johnson announced his resignation as leader of the Conservative Party on Thursday but said he would stay on as caretaker prime minister. until the formation chooses his successor, something that they criticize politicians even of their formationwho want him to leave power immediately.

Boris, 58, and Carrie Johnson, 34, were married on May 29, 2021 in a ceremony restricted by the pandemic.and then indicated that they would organize a larger celebration this July, following which they would go on their honeymoon.

The couple have two children, Wilfred, two years old, and Romy, just over six months old. Johnson, married twice before, has five other children, four with his second wife, Marina Wheeler, and another from an extramarital affair.

Checkers is a 16th-century mansion in the county of Buckinghamshire that may be used by UK Prime Ministers as a place of rest or to receive foreign dignitaries.

It has numerous rooms, an indoor pool and extensive gardens.
